And So I Watch You From Afar
Monday, August 2nd, 2010The Twilight Sad
Tuesday, July 27th, 2010Every so often you come across some music which you just think how have I not heard this before, back in April 2009 over some tasty beers Ed & Rhonda introduced me to the wonderful Twilight Sad. I’d suggest just starting at the beginning and buying everything thing that they have written, but if thats not quite your thing just pick up their last album Forget The Night Ahead.
These New Puritans
Monday, July 26th, 2010An album I’ve given a lot of time to this year is Hidden by These New Puritans. Honestly I’m not sure how to describe it other than say I really like it. No doubts it may come over a little pretentious to some, but each to their own.
My personal favourite song on the album is We Want War
Enjoy…
We Miss The Earth
Thursday, July 22nd, 2010A band I listen to a lot is The Prids, We Miss The Earth are an associated act, recording some rather nice darkish post punk/shoegaze tunes.
Well worth a listen if you have a soft spot for things like The Chamelons, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Jesus & Mary Chain etc… Tune wise if your just downloading one I would go for Silencer, but thats just me.
Kristen Hersh
Tuesday, July 20th, 2010Went to see Kristen Hersh at Whelans last night. She is as quirky and mad as ever, but a really enjoyable solo gig covering everything from classic Throwing Muses tunes up to new, unheard, material. She is in the midst of recording new Throwing Muses material, and the demos are up at cashmusic.org, as well as a stream for her new album Crooked. Well worth a listen if your a fan.
The Joy Formidable…

The albums not half bad either….

AP @ HP on Oasis
Tuesday, February 17th, 2009I went to see Amanda Palmer last night in a very, very packed Sugar Club. An enjoyable if sometimes childish gig, but man does she have a voice. Anyway there is a lot of silly controversy at the moment about the song Oasis of her new album – she writes about it over on the Huffington Post.
